Dog sledding is one of our guests’ favorite things to do during their winter visits with us. If you love dogs as much as we do you'll love going on a guided, backcountry dog sled ride on trails graced with winter beauty.
Along the way, your guide will point out any wildlife or tracks, take pictures for the guests and answer any questions about dogsledding or local history, attractions and activities. The dogs just concentrate on having fun and pulling you along!
Sleds can accommodate one, two or three guests and have a weight limit of 350 pounds (158.7 kilograms, 25 stones) for the total weight of all guests in the same sled. There is also a maximum height restriction of 48 inches (4 feet, 1.21 meters) on the third person. For example, a mother, father and child can all ride in the same sled, but only if their combined weight is 350 pounds or less and the child is less than 48 inches tall.
The trip covers 4-5 miles in about 45 minutes. The trails are situated on private property and offer amazing views including 13-thousand foot peaks, the Continental Divide, Winter Park Ski Resort, and of course lots of snow.
Sled Dog Kennel Tours & Cart Rides are available in the off season. Take a 1 hour, educational walking tour of their kennel, or a 45 minute cart ride through the woods. Either way you get to meet and pet dogs!
Reservations are required for all of these activities. For more information, call (970) 726-8326, or visit their website.
